Bhai Phota, also known as Bhai Tika, Bhai Dooj, Bhaubeej, Bhai Phonta, or Bhratri Dwitiya, is a Hindu festival observed on the second lunar day of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Kartika. This corresponds to the eighth month in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar or the Shalivahana Shaka calendar. The festival is joyously celebrated as part of the Diwali or Tihar festival and the Holi festival.
